New Look – coming soon!
Posted on August 31, 2010
I just want to apologize for the mixed looks on all of my pages. I finally decided on a new logo but am not happy with how it looks on my current blog template….so, i am having it switched! It should be up and running in a day or two. I will also be making updates to all of the info and photos on my main website in the next 2 weeks. I am trying to take advantage of this time off from sessions before I get busy again this fall!

Posted on August 22, 2010
My brother & sister in-law came down to Ocean City with us for a couple of days last week and I was able to get some great pics of her family on the beach! She is the one who took the photos of my family for me:)
I have a lot more that I love of her family but here are just a few! Aren’t my nephews just adorable!

I’m Back!
Posted on August 21, 2010
…..I had such a great time on vacation! My husband, daughter & I were in good ole’ Ocean City since last Friday and spent a lot of time relaxing (which I can honestly say I needed).
I just want to let everyone know that I will answer your emails and fulfill your orders as soon as I can over the next 2 days. As you can imagine I have a lot of unpacking, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. to do. Plus, I may have a newborn shoot tomorrow!! In the mean time, I leave you with a few photos of my family (FINALLY I got some decent ones)! Of course I will have TONS more to share over the next few days!

In Person Proofing – Now Available!
Posted on August 7, 2010
After some deliberation, I have decided to start offering in person proofing as an alternative to online proofing. In person proofing will be available to anyone who has not received their proofs / online gallery yet. If you decide to do an in person ordering appointment, please let me know before your photo session. Ordering appointments will take place either at your home or a local meeting spot about 2 weeks after your photo session. I will bring with me a set of 5×7 prints (with my logo- as pictured below) for you to make your selections. I will also have samples of each of the products that I offer as well as a product guide & order sheets. I will have a few “In Person Ordering” specials available including being able to keep your set of proofs for FREE if you purchase and pay for an order of $150 or more that day. After your session, I will put all photos online for 3 days so that friends & family can view & order photos as well.
Beginning next year, all sessions will require in person proofing / ordering. I will also bring an ipad to display your photos in a slideshow.
Pictured below is the set of proofs for my first ordering appointment tomorrow. This lucky family will be getting to keep these for free as a thank you for being my guinea pigs

10 Days & Counting… {Baltimore, Maryland Maternity Photographer}
Posted on August 7, 2010
I met up with this momma & her family today for a fun maternity session! They are expecting a baby boy in just 10 days! This session was very laid back, just like the family….they were so easy-going and easy to photograph. I think that maternity sessions are growing on me now. It is so refreshing to be a part of something so exciting. The joy & anticipation just shine through in the photos! S. family, I hope you like the sneak peek! I’ll have the rest of your gallery posted when I get home from vacation….and I can’t wait to meet little Mason!

Opinions Please!
Posted on August 2, 2010
I am considering something new for next year and would love everyone’s input (please feel free to leave a comment below)!
In-person Proofing: I am thinking of doing away with the online ordering and offering in person proofing consultations instead. There are a few reasons:
1. I have been getting some not so great feedback about the shopping cart on my website. Clients can not enter multiple coupon codes if applicable, the cart has a tendancy to malfunction, I cannot include packages, print credits or custom designed products which include multiple images.
2. The large number of proofs online at one time takes up quite a bit of space (this effects me mostly). More sessions = less amount of time proofs can be online (I have to remove them to make space for new sessions).
3. Monitor differences! While my computer monitor is properly calibrated so that I can see the exact color & density of the photos as they will be printed, your individual monitors are most likely not calibrated. This means that what you see on your screen could look a lot different that what the photo will actually look like.
4. Again, this effects me mostly – the time for people to submit orders can be quite long. I am not referring to anyone in particular but just making a point
I understand that life happens and you have other things to do, so ordering photos gets pushed to the back burner.
With in person proofing, ordering appointments will be scheduled the day of your session for about 2 weeks following. We can meet either in the comfort of your own home or at a local shop, park, etc. I will bring a slideshow of all of your final images (either on a laptop or ipad <—-this will be my justification for buying one :p) as well as a 5×7 spiral bound brag / proof book of all of your images for you to look though and order from. After your ordering session, I will still activate an online gallery (for 3 days) so that you can order any additional prints that you may have forgotten and so that family members will have a chance to see your photos.
Some reason why I like the idea of in person proofing:
1. You will see all of the images and know exactly what they will look like printed! As a special bonus, I will even include your spiral bound proof book after a purchase of $X.
2. We will have the opportunity to discuss anything that you might want custom designed (storyboards, cards, announcements, etc.). I will also be able to bring samples of everything that I offer (books, canvases, cards, float wraps, etc) so that you can see & feel it before you order.
3. I can help with decisions on photograph placement in your home & suggest appropriate sizes to order.
4. I can offer packages, special prices, discounts, credits, etc. without the hastle of the online shopping cart. Payment for your order can be made either in person that day with cash or check, or I can email you an invoice with 24 hours so that you can pay via Paypal with a credit card.
4. You will get your photos ordered right away and will be able to check one more thing off of your to do list!
So….what do you think? God idea? Bad idea?
If you think that you would like to try it out for your next session, let me know ahead of time and I’ll throw in the proof book for FREE (a $110 value!)

Anticipation… {Baltimore, MD Maternity Photographer}
Posted on August 2, 2010
I met up with a super sweet couple at Loch Raven this afternoon for my first ever maternity session! Believe it or not, I think I am actually more comfortable chasing around uncooperative toddlers than having subjects that actually listen and pose :0…..although I have a few more maternity sessions coming up so we’ll see – they might turn out to be my favorite!
This couple was so laid back and made my job really easy! They are expecting a baby girl in September and you can just see the excitement in their faces! I hope that you enjoy the sneak peak and I’ll have your entire gallery ready soon:)
